We process personal data in line with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
1. What we collect
We only collect what we need to run the app:
- Account details: your mobile number, which we verify with a one-time password (OTP).
- Profile details you choose to add: name, email address, address, profile photo, skills and years of experience.
- Listings you post: category, title, description, photos and your minimum and maximum price.
- Listing location: if you allow location access while posting, the app reads your device’s location once to fill in your area (for example suburb, district, state and postcode). You can edit or remove these fields before you post. We store the area you submit, not a continuous location history.
- Basic technical data our servers receive when the app connects to them, such as IP address and request times.
The app does not collect payment details, contacts, call logs or messages, and it does not track your location in the background.
2. How we use your data
- To create your account and sign you in with an OTP.
- To show your listings to other users of the app.
- To help when you ask about a listing through “Chat with us” on WhatsApp.
- To keep the app safe, review listings, and prevent fraud or misuse.
- To comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. What other users can see
Listings are public to other users of the app. This includes the title, description, photos, price range, category and the area you entered. Don’t include your phone number, home address or other private details in a listing unless you want others to see them.
5. Storage, security and retention
Your data is stored on our servers and protected with reasonable security safeguards. On your phone, the app keeps your sign-in status and profile so you stay signed in; logging out clears your sign-in.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data and listings within a reasonable time, unless we must keep some of it to meet a legal obligation.
No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
6. Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access and correct your profile at any time in the app under Profile → Your Profile.
- Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete your account and data, by emailing [support@khareedbekri.com].
- Turn off location access for the app in your phone’s settings. You can still post by typing your area.
- Withdraw your consent at any time. This doesn’t affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
- Nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated.
- Raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (below) and, if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Children
Khareed Bekri is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. This website
This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
